**Nem** is one of the most typical and famous dishes of Vietnam, also known as “Vietnamese fried spring rolls.”
It is usually made with minced pork, crab, or shrimp, mixed with rice noodles, various vegetables, mushrooms, and onions. All the ingredients are thoroughly mixed before being wrapped in rice paper into small rolls. These rolls are then deep-fried until golden and crispy. **Nem** can be enjoyed on its own or served with fresh vegetables and either fish sauce or a special dipping sauce.
